Canadian Driver Puts LMP3 Plans on Hold

Canadian driver Graham Mariacci has been forced to suspend plans for his 2026 European Le Mans Series debut due to a health issue.

Mariacci had been preparing to compete in the LMP3 category. However, the Canadian confirmed that those plans are now on hold while he focuses on recovery from major surgery.

“It’s really unfortunate,” said Mariacci. “As I’ve said before, I was really looking forward to getting back into a race car, and really excited that it was going to be an LMP3 car. As of now, those plans are on hold.”

Mariacci added that while the setback is disappointing, both he and his sponsors remain committed to the long term.

“I’m as disappointed for my sponsors as myself, but they do understand the situation, and are committed to the long-term,” he explained.

The Canadian emphasized that his priority is ensuring a full recovery before returning to competition.

“Unfortunate as it is for my near-term racing plans, it’s much more important to ensure long term health and recovery,” said Mariacci. “Hey, it’s just racing. If it’s not this season, it’ll be next season.”
